The transition period between the old and new Nike kits bleeds into the first few weeks of the 2023 season, but Canadian officials eventually switch to yellow, black, and blue outfits with black socks across the board.
The four colours from 2020 carry over, and the black kit sees much more action. Nike’s volt yellow option makes its debut as well, oddly being the only kit to feature matching socks – interestingly, it’s the 2018 version of the kit, rather than the more current 2020 option. The 2018 blue kit also reappears from hibernation at points, bringing the total number of kits in circulation to a whopping six.
CPL referees become some of the first to use the new Nike 20 kits, as the league competes in a bubble format for the Island Games. Interestingly, the red kit from last season is retained, while the black kit sees action in just one match – likely due to the league’s kit supplier, Macron, manufacturing black away kits for all eight teams.
The CPL begins play in 2019 with its referees wearing the Nike 18 kits in blue, black, and red.
