Ligue 1
There is a delay of a couple months (compared to other leagues) to fully procure the new 2022 kits, although there is nothing new to note about the patches or badges.
The black kit is retained, but teal replaces blue – while the orange and yellow kits undergo ever-so-slight modifications (look at the trim colour on the ribs) on the new Nike 20 outfits.
The red kit is replaced by Nike’s volt yellow option for the 2019-20 season. Additionally, France’s national referee badge undergoes a redesign (worn by non-FIFA officials), while the LFP logo on the right sleeve is rebranded as well.
Coloured socks return with the Nike 18 set, and referees take a one-year hiatus from wearing yellow jerseys. These kits were worn during the last week of the 2017-18 season, a rare case of officials showcasing the next season’s designs like many teams do with their kit releases.
After four years of having coloured kits with matching shorts and socks, officials take a complete 180 and not only (mercifully) return to wearing black shorts across the board, but also decide to ditch the coloured socks while they’re at it.
The move to Nike’s 2014 kits sees a continuation of the matching shorts, while the sleeve sponsor inconsistency is resolved: the LFP logo now appears below the La Poste mark on all three kits. Nike’s grey kit does not appear in the French top flight.
Apparently deciding that matching-colour socks weren’t quite enough, Ligue 1 officials take to the pitch for the start of the 2012-13 season wearing matching shorts as well.
Oddly, there is an inconsistency in the sleeve sponsor positioning on the yellow shirt. While the other three jerseys feature the yellow La Poste sponsor logo below the Ligue de Football Professionel (LFP) badge on the right sleeve, the yellow jersey has it reversed, with the La Poste logos on both sleeves also appearing within a black background box.
The FFF’s deal with Adidas runs out mid-season in January 2011, and these Nike kits are adopted for the following season-and-a-half.
For the first half of the 2010-11 season, French referees wear the yellow, blue, and black versions of the Adidas 2010 kits.
